Finally after repeatedly singing the well know children’s rhyme ‘rain rain, go away! Come again another day!’ I woke to a fiery beam of sunlight through my window. HORAY! Squinting with delight I rushed to my jam-packed fresh unworn summer wardrobe, snapped on a new number from the Mina Collection skipped down the road to the tube. It’s so crazy how a little bit of vitamin D sunshine can totally turn your whole mood around. After almost two weeks of ‘drought’ weather – I’m looking forward to a brighter spring. ‘Bye Bye April showers and ‘Hello festivals!’
Bestival tickets have been booked (they have a new 5 month payment plan) and Streetfest, London over the bank holiday, shame about Glasto (giving this year a miss) but I feel the year has officially started! Here’s some of my style inspirations from the Coachella looks snapped at the festival (I am still swooning over the resurrection of 2 Pac). Hope you likey!
This year, festival looks have taken a much more girly romantic direction with over-sized bell sleeves, lace, frills and extra light fabrics almost sheer. I don’t really like to say the ever so used ‘Boho’ as the looks not as simple. I’d describe this years festival must have look as innocent Little House on the prairie girl fell down the hill and landed at a texas ranch, good girl gone…Yee-ha! Leather cowboy boots and a oversized bucket bag are essential…

Choosing a more updated style cowboy boot will give this ‘girl gone bad’ look more edge than the usual western cowboy boot but keeping them cutoff at the ankle to show off some barely tanned pins with a frilly hem line is the way to go to keep the innocence sexy.

Check out the new arrival at www.minauk.com. Salem Dress in Mint £49.00. It checks off all the boxes. Skater skirt with accordion pleats, lace detail and cool mint colour. The material is light weight an sheer at the top. Gently elasticated at the waist gives a much more seductive structure. Also available in beige.
Keep it sleek with the Taylor dress in white, £42.00 a tunic style with the same highlights as on trend but more minimal for a chic festival look.

Team with army boots and simple accessories. Less is more with this look. For sundown choose an epic western looking cardigan from any vintage boutique.

Aztec prints were muted into monochrome black and white triangles…colour was left down to accessories.

Nile dress £39.00 can be worn with or without jeans, shorts, leggings. But for a night I’d suggest the styling below. Pink neon is hot and once the sun’s gone to bed you’ll be happy you’ve got extra layers so you’re left to engoy a night of festivities!
